Doliguez-Tubieron reset

PhilBoxing.com

DUE to Typhoon Mario, the much-awaited clash of fists between Jun ??Hercules?? Doliguez and Elorde Boxing?s Dennis ??Scorpion?? Tubieron didn?t happen last September 19 at the Mandaluyong Gym in Mandaluyong City.

Saved by the Bell Promotions chief Elmer Anuran said the bout between the world class boxers will happen in a date to be announced soon.

??Not to worry, Hercules and Scorpion will happen. That?s for sure,?? said Anuran. He said that roads were flooded it impassable to vehicles due to Typhoon Marion. ??We have to protect the interests of the public and the boxers.??

The weigh-in witnessed by Games and Amusements Board boxing chief Dr. Nasser Cruz and Anuran was held last September 18 at the GAB office in Makati City. Both Doliguez and Tubieron passed the grade with flying colors.

All the boxers in the card also made the weight limits. Included in the lineup are SBB?s powerhouses Roberto Gonzales and Jetrho Pabustan, who will go up against dangerous foes.

In an earlier interview, Tubieron vowed to beat Doliguez. ??I respect Doliguez. He?s world-rated and is fearsome in the division. I want to beat him because I want to keep my dream of winning a world title alive,?? said the 5-foot-6 southpaw from Puerto Princesa City.

Tubieron, who trains under ex-pro Moy Mana-ay said he is in top physical condition. ??Win or lose, I want to give the fans a very good fight.??

Mana-ay also attended the weigh-in. ?? Tubieron is ready to rumble,?? said Mana-ay.

??True to SBB?s motto of not getting patsies, this is a fight between two world-class Pinoy fighters,?? said Anuran. This is a big fight for Jun because Dennis is a very tough foe.??

Nicknamed ??Scorpion?? because of his lethal punches, Tubieron said he?s ready even if the fight will go the distance.

Doliguez, who now trains under former world titlist Tacy Macalos and Dondon Jimenea, did not promise a knockout.

??If the opportunity arises, the knockout will come. I?ll follow the game plan because of Tubieron is very dangerous,?? said Doliguez.

Former world title contender Jimenea said Doliguez is in great shape.

??We?ve studied Tubieron?s past fights and we know what to do,?? said Jimenea.

Anuran thanked Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos for supporting the card.

Doliguez formerly lorded it over as WBO Oriental featherweight king, while Tubieron won the WBC International belt.

Earlier, Elmer Anuran, who also owns Touch Gloves Boxing Gym in Agoncillo, Batangas, said the fight is true to the aim of SBB to offer world-class bouts.

??SBB will give its boxers highly-qualified foes in order to thrill the fans,?? said the youthful Anuran, who is known for promoting action-packed boxing extravanganza.

The 5-foot-7 Doliguez, pride of Malungon, Sarangani, Province, has an impressive record of 19-1-2, 14 KOs, while Tubieron sports 18-3-1, 8 KOs.
