Concepcion Defends WBC Youth Crown

Don't expect him to be making a lot of noise on April 14, especially that he's fighting underneath a Pacquiao show. Anyone who fights under Pacquiao these days, after all, will be obliterated as a mere side-show.
But expect Filipino Bernabe Concepcion to be just as well-prepared when he defends his WBC Youth superbantam crown on the same Top Rank show against American Benjamin Flores at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
The bout is scheduled for ten rounds, and Concepcion's youthful manager Aljoe Jaro says his ward is now ready to rumble.
"Labang-laban na ang bata ko. Gusto nang makipagbakbakan," (My boy is aching to fight now. He wants to rumble) said Jaro today.
Concepcion, whose mouthpiece is custom-made for him by renowned orthodontist Ed De la Vega of Los Angles, picked up the WBC Youth superbantam title with a definitive 10-round unanimous decision over Mexican Joksan Hernandez last November 18 in Las Vegas, and although the fight was not aired, the young Filipino bomber received great fan reactions as well as tremendous boost in his stock.
