NBA Playoffs - Heat exact revenge, beat Pacers in Game 2, 87-83 By Adeline Deladisma PhilBoxing.com Thu, 22 May 2014 ![]() INDIANAPOLIS -- Vengeance. That word was prominently placed in large capital letters onto the overhead scoreboard of the Bankers Life Fieldhouse prior to Game 2 as the home crowd relished the opportunity to watch their team take a 2-0 lead over the two-time defending champions Miami Heat. The raucous arena mood during the Pacers' Game 1 victory carried over into Tuesday evening. And yes, indeed, vengeance was served. But it was the battle-tested Heat who did it, stealing Game 2 and homecourt advantage with a thrilling 87-83 win. LeBron James and Dwyane Wade fueled the fourth quarter comeback by scoring their team's last 20 points. Wade led the Heat with 23 points on 10-of-16 while James finished with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Chris Bosh had another quiet 9 points and 6 boards while Norris Cole was stellar off the bench with 11.. Lance Stephenson paced Indiana with 25 points, including an electrifying 6-foot tip-in with .01 seconds left in the second quarter which cut the Pacers' halftime deficit to 4. But the Pacers failed to match the brilliance of their Game 1 performance as they shot poorly in Game 2 --- 32 of 80 from the field (40 percent) and 10 of 18 from the free throw stripe (66.7 percent). Paul George and David West finished with 14 and 10 points, respectively, but the usually reliable Pacers starters missed a combined 23 of 32 field goals. Center Roy Hibbert showed up with 12 points and 13 rebounds while George Hill accounted for 13. Now tied at 1-1, this Eastern Conference Finals series moves to the American Airlines Arena in Miami where the Heat will host Game 3 Saturday night (Sunday AM in Manila) (AD) Photo: Heat guard Dwyane Wade (R) was stellar in Miami's Game 2 win (87-83) over the Pacers Tuesday night in Indianapolis. The 2-guard finished with 23 points on 10 of 16 shooting. Click here to view a list of other articles written by Adeline Deladisma. ![]() |
