NBA -- Pacers edge Bucks to regain No.1 spot in the East (PHOTOS)

MILWAUKEE -- Even without their five starters playing, the Indiana Pacers handled the Milwaukee Bucks, 104-102, Wednesday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center here in downtown Milwaukee.
But the Pacers had to go through a bit of a scare before Chris Copeland bailed them out with a game-winning lay-up with just 1.2 seconds left to play.
Up 102-99 with 14.9 seconds to go, Indiana was just one defensive stop away from victory when Ian Mahinmi fouled Khris Middleton's 3-point attempt. Middleton calmly sank all three free throws to knot the count, setting the stage for Copeland's heroics.
Citing fatigue, head coach Frank Vogel did not play his starters and the Pacers reserves acquitted themselves quite well, lifting Indiana's record to 54-25, one-half game ahead of the 53-25 Miami Heat for the best record in the Eastern Conference.
Luis Scola had 24 points and nine rebounds to pace Indiana while Evan Turner had his best outing since leaving Philadelphia, 23 points and nine assists. Copeland finished with 18 points in 17 minutes of action.
Brandon Knight delivered a game-high 25 points with 10 assists but it wasn't enough to save the day for the Bucks, who made only 38 of 87 shots (43.7 percent), including just 4-for-16 from 3-point country.
Ramon Sessions chalked 20 while Middleton added 16 and seven boards for Milwaukee, which fell to an NBA-worst 14-64 record. (Homer D. Sayson)
