NBA --Curry rescues Warriors from Mavs
By Ryan Medida PhilBoxing.com Wed, 02 Apr 2014

SAN FRANCISCO -- Stephen Curry showed the nerve and toughness that made him an NBA All-Star this season.
With 0.1 seconds left in overtime and his team trailing by a hair, 120-119, Curry drilled a baseline jumper to lift the Golden State Warriors to a huge road victory over the host Mavericks at the American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas.
His heroics came after Warriors center Jermaine O'Neal blocked a Monta Ellis shot in the final 13 seconds of the extra session. O'Neal, who had 20 and eight boards, also tied the score with a dunk off a Draymond Green assist.
"It was kind of a weird play. I thought they were going to trap at half court and I was able to get around. Then you look up and you have five seconds to try and figure out how to get a clean shot off. I just wanted to keep shooting and thankfully it went in," Curry told NBA.com after the game.
Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 27 and Curry finished with 18. Andre Iguodala tallied 16 as Golden State improved to 46-28 to maintain its loose grip of 6th place in the Western Conference.
Dirk Nowitzki registered 33 for Dallas while Ellis had 27. But the Mavericks lost despite shooting 47 of 96 field goals (49 percent) and 14 of 30 triples (46.7 percent).
With the devastating setback, the Mavericks fell to 44-31 in the West standings, one-and-a-half games behind the 44-30 Phoenix Suns for the eighth and last playoffs berth. (RSM)
