NBA -- Bulls extend Sixers losing spree to 24
By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Sun, 23 Mar 2014

CHICAGO -- The NBA's longest losing streak of the season reached a new low Saturday night at the United Center.
Joakim Noah scored 20 points, grabbed eight boards and issued four assists as the Chicago Bulls held on to beat the visiting Sixers in a moderately entertaining 91-81 contest that was marred by poor shooting on both sides.
Jimmy Butler added 17 for the Bulls, who improved to 39-31 for fourth place in the Eastern Conference playoffs race, while D.J. Augustin pitched in 16 and 6 assists. Taj Gibson also accounted for 16 points with 10 boards.
The Bulls made only 31 of 70 field goals (44.3 percent) and only 5-for-14 from 3 (35.7 percent) but the Sixers didn't fare any better, converting just 30 of 87 shots (34.5 percent) including a miserable 1-for-20 fare from 3=point country.
If the Sixers lose their next two assignments against the San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Rockets, they will tie the NBA;s longest losing streak of 26 set by the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2010-11 season.
Despite all the gloom of doom of losing and a 15-55 record, Sixers head coach Brett Brown remained optimistic and told reporters after the game, 'There is a win in this group."
Thaddeus Young led the losing effort with 28 and seven rebounds. Henry Sims chipped in 17 while talented rookie Michael Carter-Williams was held to a meager seven points on 3-for-14 shooting. (Homer D. Sayson)
