By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Tue, 18 Mar 2014

CHICAGO - The Phoenix Suns kept their hopes for the eighth and last playoffs spot in the Western Conference very much alive with a huge road win Sunday night.
Gerald Green scored 28 points while point guard Goran Dragic had 19 and four assists to lead the Suns to a 121-113 win over the Toronto Raptors at the Air Canada Centre.
Markieff Morris added 16 points and 14 boards while P.J Tucker and Marcus Morris combined for 21. The Suns improved to 38-28, just one game off the 39-27 Memphis Grizzlies for the No.8 spot in the tight West.
The No.6-ranked Golden State Warriors (42-26) and the No.7-ranked Dallas Mavericks (40-27) are two of the other teams involved in the close dash to the post-season.
With 16 games left in the regular season, the importance of every victory was not lost on Dragic, who told NBA.com, "Especially now it so much important for us, this stretch of games. We need everybody, try to hunt that playoffs spot."
Kyle Lowry led the Raptors with 28 points and 13 assists and Terrence Ross finished with 22. Amir Johnson pitched in 20 as the Toronto Raptors fell to 37-28 in the overall standings and third place overall in the Eastern Conference. (Homer D. Sayson)
