?Nightmare? new Philippine champ
By Dennis U. Eroa PhilBoxing.com Mon, 17 Mar 2014

JR Magboo, dubbed as ??Nightmare?? showed his potentials to become a world champion someday as he wrested the Philippine super bantamweight title from Jhunriel Ramonal last March 15 before a riproaring crowd at the Agoncillo Sports Complex in Batangas.
Using timely combinations, Magboo of the popular Touch Gloves Boxing Gym owned by young sportsman-businessman Elmer Anuran, proved to be a nightmare for Ramonal, who came into the slugfest as favorite.
The 24-year-old Magboo, a native of Baco, Oriental Mindoro, improved his impressive record to 13-0-2, 6 KOs.
To the delight of the jampacked fans, Magboo and Ramonal exchanged heavy punches right from the opening bell. It was clear that both fighters were not in the mood to win by decision. Magboo used timely combinations to control the pace. He decked Ramonal twice before finally stopping his foe in the 7th round.
??The fight was action-filled,?? noted Anuran.??By winning, JR has proven that he has the tools to become another Filipino world champion. I am very happy for him.??
Like Magboo, Anuran also handles the career of unbeaten and world title prospect Jun ??Hercules?? Doliguez (18-0-2, 14 KOs).
