NBA -- Bulls turn back Heat in OT, 95-88 By Kelly Manalo PhilBoxing.com Mon, 10 Mar 2014 ![]() CHICAGO -- The rivalry continued Sunday afternoon and the Chicago Bulls outworked the Miami Heat in overtime, 95-88, at the United Center. Each time these two teams meet there seems to be a playoff atmosphere, each possession very important. The Bulls especially are always amped to play the Heat. ?I watched the game on Friday against Memphis, they play different against us," said Lebron James. The King had a good statistical effort with 17 points, grabbing 9 rebounds and 8 assists, but his rhythm was inconsistent throughout the entire game. LeBron turned the ball over twice in the final minute of the 4th quarter. He was stripped by Jimmy Butler for a possible game-winner when trying to bulldoze his way into the lane. Also, Lebron never went to the free throw line, the first time this has happened in 4 years. The Bulls were led by Joakim Noah who has been on a tear lately. He scored 20 points, pulled in 12 rebounds, passed out 7 assists, and blocked 5 shots. His intensity and willingness to do everything on floor carried the Bulls to victory. Even Noah?s father -- tennis star Yannick Noah -- was excited, showing his enthusiasm everytime his son made a play. DJ Augustin added 22 points hitting big shots especially a few deep three pointers to keep the Bulls in the game. There were a few scraps and physical plays that showed the disdain that both teams have for each other. The most notable of which was when Lebron James and Jimmy Butler got tangled under the basket resulting in technical fouls to both. The Heat had control of the game for the most part and led by 12 early in the fourth quarter. But the Bulls went on a 13-0 run to set the stage for the exciting finish. Taj Gibson threw down a monstrous slam on Mario Chalmers to give them the lead. The Bulls then pulled away in overtime with a big 3 from Augustin and a Noah putback and swat that sent the United Center into a frenzy. Dwayne Wade led the game in scoring with 25 points. The Heat have lost three games in a row. This was the final game between these two teams. When asked about their mentality to win, Joakim Noah said, ?We played with a lot of hate?a lot of hate.?
