NBA -- Warriors overwhelm Celtics, 108-88
By Joan Secuya-Medida PhilBoxing.com Fri, 07 Mar 2014

SAN FRANCISCO -- The good teams are supposed to beat the bad teams. And that's what the Golden State Warriors did Wednesday night at the TD Garden in Boston.
David Lee scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Klay Thompson made 7-of-15 field goals for 18 and the Warriors pounded the host Celtics, 108-88.
It was an easy romp for the Warriors, who won two straight and improved to 38-24 in the Western Conference standings. They led 30-22 after one quarter and 61-40 at halftime. Golden State's advantage went to as many as 31 points in the second half.
"I thought we did a great job against a team that, in all honesty, we are better than... A big win for us and now it's about going home and taking care of business at home," a very pleased Warriors head coach Mark Jackson told NBA.com after the rout.
Kelly Olynyk led the Celtics with 19 points and five boards while point guard Rajon Rondo was limited to 14 and seven assists. Jared Sullinger and Brandon Bass chipped in 11 points apiece for Boston, which made only 30 of 76 field goals (39.5 percent) and 7-of-26 three-point shots.
Losers of two straight, the Celtics dropped to 20-41 for the season. (JSM)
