Yap led with four points in a quick 7-2 run to place the Mixers on a 58-52 advantage. Rain or Shine retaliated with a 13-4 blitz on three-pointers from Chris Tiu and Paul Lee who bailed out their team 65-62 ahead with three minutes left in the third quarter.

Then San Mig Coffee with Simon, Barroca, and Sangalang combining for a 17-5 spur to give the Mixers a 79-70 advantage with more than six minutes left in the game.
