NBA -- Pacers rout Knicks, keep best record at 31-7

CHICAGO -- The Indiana Pacers stayed on top of the NBA standings Thursday night and polished their league-best record to 31-7.
Their latest victims were the New York Knicks, who went down in flames -- 117-89 -- at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The Pacers are now 20-1 in their home floor, a staggering 95 percent clip.
Lance Stephenson drilled 10 of 17 shots for 28 points while All-Star Paul George added 25 points and seven rebounds. Roy Hibbert finished with 12 while Danny Granger and David West each had 11 in a balanced Pacers attack.
The 15-24 Knicks led by eight early and took the first quarter 31-30. But the Pacers defense held them to only 56 points in the final 36 minutes to pencil the rout. The Pacers' lead bulged to as many as 30 points.
"We were awful," Knicks head coach Mike Woodson told NBA.com after his team shot just 34 of 85 from the field and 4 of 19 from 3-point range.
Carmelo Anthony was the high man for New York with 28. Tyson Candler chalked 13 and nine boards and Raymond Felton finished with 12 and five helpers. (Homer D. Sayson)
