By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Thu, 16 Jan 2014

CHICAGO -- In his third game as a former Chicago Bull, Luol Deng is finally settling in as a Cavalier and showed the form that made him a two-time All-Star.
The 6-foot-9 Deng sank all of his five triples and 9-for-15 overall from the field for 27 points to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 120-118 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers Tuesday night at the Staples Center.
It was only the Cavs' 14th win in 38 outings but it was a triumph full of wonderful performances. as Anderson Varejao finished with 18 points and 18 rebounds while Tristan Thompson had 15 and 13 boards. Dion Waiters sprang off the bench with 17 markers.
Nick Young fired 28 points for the Lakers while Pau Gasol had another solid double-double, 20 points and 12 rebounds. Jodie Meeks had 26 and Wesley Johnson chipped in 17 but the Lakers missed 19 of their 33 shots from above the 3-point arc.
Playing without Kobe Bryant, Steve Blake, Jordan Farmar and Xavier Henry, the injury-depleted Lakers fell to 14-24 and have now lost 11 of their last 12 games. (Homer D. Sayson)
