NBA -- League-best Blazers edge Clips in OT
By Joan Secuya-Medida PhilBoxing.com Fri, 27 Dec 2013

SAN FRANCISCO -- Chris Paul had one of his finest efforts of the season with 34 points, 16 assists and six steals while his sidekick, Blake Griffin, turned in 35 and 11 rebounds.
But it still wasn't good enough for a road win.
Nicolas Batum sank a 3 with 5.3 seconds left in regulation and the Portland Trail Blazers went on to beat the Los Angeles Clippers in overtime, 116-112, Thursday night at the Moda Center.
Paul could won the game outright for the Clippers but he missed a jumper with 1.1 ticks to go. The Blazers took advantage with a 13-9 run in the extra session.
"We think we're going to win the game. We don' think we're out of it. Generally, our finishing group is very confident about what we can do at both ends of the court," head coach Terry Stotts told NBA.com after the Blazers captured the league's best record at 24-5.
LaMarcus Aldridge had a team-high 32 for Portland while Wesley Matthews added 19 and seven boards. Batum finished with 19 and point guard Damian Lillard turned in 14 and five assists. (JSM)
