NBA -- Raptors feast on weary Bulls By Kelly Manalo PhilBoxing.com Sun, 15 Dec 2013 ![]() CHICAGO -- Riding an emotional high from a game 3 Friday night, the Chicago Bulls suffered a crushing defeat against the Toronto Raptors, 99-77, Saturday at the United Center. Showing the after effects of the emotionally-charged game against the Bucks, the Bulls started out slow, with the energy level dipping as low as the crowd noise. The Bulls shot 36 percent from the field for the entire game. The game was controlled by the Raptors throughout the entire night. Every time Chicago tried to make a run, Toronto responded with a flurry of its own. The Raptors had a balanced attack with five players scoring in double figures. Point Guard Kyle Lowry led the way with 16 points, while big man Jonas Valanciunas chipped in 15 points and 11 rebounds. The Bulls continue to struggle on both sides of the ball. All Star Luol Deng, who was the leading scorer for the game with 17 points tried his best to keep his team within striking distance, but his effort was not enough. Carlos Boozer shot 4 of 18 from the field and struggled mightily trying to make a difference from the floor. Newly signed guard DJ Augustin contributed some minutes dishing out six assists but only scored once, hitting a deep three to start the 4th quarter. Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau was asked if this being the final game of a four-game in five nights stretch had an a effect on his team, he replied, ?That?s no excuse to lose a game.? We are not going to use that as an excuse.? The Bulls fall to 9 and 13 and look to regroup Monday night against the Orlando Magic.
