Doliguez Faces Sithsaithong Tonight in Batangas By Dennis U. Eroa PhilBoxing.com Sat, 14 Dec 2013 ![]() Doliguez. TONIGHT?s the night for the next Filipino boxing hero Jun ??Hercules?? Doliguez as he trades punches with Thai veteran Maxsaisai Sithsaithong at the Agoncillo Sports Complex in Agoncillo, Batangas. Though it?s a non-title bout, the mainer of an exciting fight card put up by Elmer Anuran?s Saved by the Bell Promotion has gained huge attention mainly because ring fans are hungry to see the vaunted power of the 5-foot-7 Doliguez. Dubbed as Hercules, the provincemate of ring hero Manny Pacquiao, remains unbeaten in 19 fights and is eyeing a big followup to his conquest of battle-grizzled Mexican fighter Giovanni Caro in Las Vegas. Both boxers made the catchweight of 128 lbs yesterday at the Games and Amusements Office in Makati City. Prominent names are expected to grace the event including Sithsaithong?s Japanese manager/promoter, who heard a lot about the power of the Filipino southpaw. . Expected at ringside is the country?s cockfighting maestro Benjie Lim and another well-known figure in the sport Tony Lasala. ??The fight in on. This is going to be a night to remember,?? said Anuran, who is known for bringing boxing to the grassroots and nurturing the career of budding prizefighters from the provinces. Doliguez, who trains under the watchful eyes of Benny dela Pena and Dagul Martinez, said he?ll not disappoint his growing number of fans. ??I owe a lot from my Batangueno friends. Boss Elmer treats me like a true Batangueno although I?m far Sarangani. I will repay them with a victory,?? said Doliguez. Anuran believes that it will not be an easy fight for his ward. He said Doliguez?s power will be tested to the maximum. ??No way the Thai is going to roll over and die. SBB picked the Thai because of his reputation. This is going to be an action-packed bout,?? said Anuran. The 34-year-old Sithsaithong hails from Nong Bua Lam Phu. The Thai lost his last three bouts at the hands of world-rated Joel Brunker , Elorde boxing?s Bai Elorde and another world-class pug Jack Asis of Australia. Nicknamed the Assasin, Asis hails from Davao City, but migrated to Australia. Elorde and Asis failed to floor the Thai and Doliguez?s vaunted power will be tested to the maximum against Sithsaithong. Doliguez is No.7 in the WBO and a victory is a sure ticket to another international fight next year.
