SAN FRANCISCO -- Power forward LaMarcus Aldridge had one of the finest performances in his young career, scoring 31 points and grabbing 25 rebounds to lead the Portland Trail Blazers past the Houston Rockets, 111-104, Thursday night at the Moda Center.
The Blazers improved to 10-2 at their home floor and 19-4 overall, just a half-game behind the 19-3 Indiana Pacers for the best record in the NBA.
Robin Lopez finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Blazers and Nicolas Batum chipped in 15, six rebounds and six assists.
"That's the best game I've seen L.A. play - ever. He has improved every year and right now he is the best power forward in the league, no doubt," Batum told NBA.com.
Dwight Howard led the Rockets with an equally impressive 32 points and 17 rebounds but it wasn't enough to upset the Blazers, who went on an 11-1 tear late to seal the deal.
James Harden finished with 25 points but Chandler Parsons missed 12 of 18 shots for just 14 points. The Rockets fell to 15-8. (JSM)
