DOLIGUEZ HEADLINES SBB BATANGAS CARD ON DEC. 14 By Dennis U. Eroa PhilBoxing.com Wed, 11 Dec 2013 ![]() Doliguez. Rising Filipino star Jun ??Hercules?? Doliguez headlines a much-awaited boxing card under Elmer Anuran?s Saved by the Bell Promotions on December 14 at the Agoncillo Sports Complex in Agoncillo, Batangas. Doliguez, dubbed as the next Filipino boxing hero, trades punches with Thai fighter Maxsaisai Sithsaithong (12-3, 1 KO) in the mainer of the slugfest featuring some of the country?s up and coming boxers. ??I always give my best,?? said Doliguez, who is still unbeaten in 19 bouts. A provincemate of ring legend Manny Pacquiao, the pride of Malungon, Sarangani eyes a great follow-up after decking hardened Mexican boxer Giovanni Caro in the 6th round in the undercard of the Juan Manuel Marquez-Timothy Bradley fight in Las Vegas. The 5-foot-7 southpaw redeemed himself after he managed a draw against Ruben Tamayo in his first fight outside the comforts of the Philippines last July in Yucatan, Mexico. Undoubtedly, Doliguez is favored to win against Sithsaithong, who hails from Nong Bua Lam Phu. But the Thai bet isn?t a patsy despite losing his last three bouts at the hands of world-rated Joel Brunker , Elorde boxing?s Bai Elorde and another world-class pug Jack Asis of Australia. Nicknamed the Assasin, Asis hails from Davao City, but migrated to Australia. Elorde and Asis failed to floor the Thai and Doliguez?s vaunted power will be tested to the maximum against Sithsaithong. ??SBB wants to give the public thrilling fights,?? said SBB president Elmer Anuran, when asked why he arranged the fight. Doliguez, ranked 7th by the WBO in the featherweight division, said he?s going all out to delight fight fans and other personalities attending the bout. Expected at ringside is the country?s cockfighting maestro Benjie Lim and another well-known figure in the sport Tony Lasala. ??Boss Elmer told me I need to beat the Thai convincingly,?? said Doliguez. It means, of course, that Doliguez needs to send the Thai to dreamland. The question is: what round? The 22-year-old Doliguez isn?t saying. ??It will come if it will come. I always try my best and I don?t want to disappoint my friends and fans.?? Another fight worth seeing is the lightweight tussle between promising Al Rivera of Brusmick Boxing Gym of Sta. Rosa Laguna against Ronald Postrano of Arci Boxing Stable, Mandaluyong City. Like the Doliguez-Sithsaitong bout Rivera versus Postrano is a 10 rounder. Roberto Gonzales of Tough Gloves Boxing Gym battles Jonel Alivio of Empire Boxing; Rey Perez of Brusmick Boxing Gym tackles Val Falconaya of Kambal Kamao, Lipa City; Benezer Alolod of Brusmick exchanges punches with Arickson Boxing?s Jayson Rotoni; JR Magboo of Touch Gloves tests Danilo Pena of Wild Card Boxing Gym, Sucat, Paranaque; Brusmick?s Dizon Cag-ong Royo clashes with Gabriel Royo of Johnny Monis Boxing, Valenzuela City; Jethro Pabustan of Touch Glove versus Michael Escobia of Elorde Boxing Gym, Marikina City and JC Francisco of Hardstone Monis, Bangar, La Union and Dexter Dimaculangan of Empimano Boxing Stable, San Pablo, Laguna.
