NBA -- Indy's perfect record falls in Chicago By Kelly Manalo PhilBoxing.com Sun, 17 Nov 2013 ![]() CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bulls dominated the previously undefeated Indiana Pacers, 110-94, at the United Center, pushing their record to 5-3 while ending the Pacers' unbeaten run at nine games. Derrick Rose was active after sitting out the previous night?s game against the Toronto raptors where the Bulls were victorious without their star player. Chicago jumped to a quick 10 point lead in the opening quarter and never looked backed throughout the rest of game. Luol Deng led the Bulls with 10 points and kept Indiana?s star Paul George out of rhythm early as he quickly picked up two fouls and found himself sitting on the bench. The highlight of the first quarter came when Bulls guard Jimmy Butler blocked a layup and the Bulls were able to drive down the court for a Deng lay in. The defense of Chicago stifled the Pacers in the second quarter holding them to 31 percent shooting and was able to push the lead to 22 points. Rose nailed three 3s to keep the Pacers at bay for the half as the Bulls went into halftime 60 to 35. The last time the Bulls faced the Pacers they were blown out, but coming into the second half it looked clear that the tables would be turned. The lead was pushed to 30 points when Butler knocked down a corner 3 while getting fouled for the 4 point play. Chicago looked like a championship contender being able to play both ends of the floor. They did not allow any of the Pacers starters to find their feel for the game. Luol Deng was the leading scorer for the game pouring in 23 points on 8 for 14 shooting and snagging 7 rebounds. All-star Paul George was a non-factor chasing Deng around and only scoring 12 points on 21 percent shooting. These two teams are 1-1 so far and will meet at least two more times in the regular season before a possible duel in the postseason. Rose was quoted saying that the Miami Heat were the only rivals for the Bulls, but as these two teams keep battling; this looks more like the real rivalry that fans want to see.
