NBA -- After 0-4 start, Celtics win two in a row
By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Sun, 10 Nov 2013
CHICAGO -- After a disastrous 0-4 start this season, the Boston Celtics under new head coach Brad Stevens have won two straight games.
Their second win came at the expense of the Orlando Magic, who dropped a 91-89 squeaker at home against the Celtics, Friday night at the Amway Center in Orlando.
The Celtics shot only 34 of 95 from the field and 2-of-14 from 3-point range but they overcame both a 10-point deficit and a poor shooting by having six guys finish with double figures in points.
Brandon Bass led the way with 16 points and seven rebounds and Avery Bradley had 14. Jordan Crawford and Courtney Lee each had 13 while Jared Sullinger chipped in 11. Jeff Green added 10 more as the Celtics improved to 2-4.
Aaron Afflalo finished with 23 to pace the Magic and Nikola Vucevic had another huge night with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Point guard Jameer Nelson tallied 12 and seven assists for the Magic, who converted only 33 of 83 field goals, a poor 39.8 percent.
Orlando dropped to 3-3. (Homer D. Sayson)
