JEROPE MERCADO GETS WBC INT'L TITLE CRACK

Cebu-based Jerope Mercado of Rex 'Wakee' Salud Stable, a fine boxer-puncher, goes for the WBC International bantam crown when he challenges South African Vusi Malinga tomorrow at the Nasrec Indoor Arena in Johannesburg.
Mercado only has one loss in 12 fights, the only blemish being a ninth-round TKO at the hands of RP superfly boss Eden Sonsona.
Mercado has vowed to win the WBC title this time.
