NBA -- Bogut wants to stay a Warrior
By Joan Secuya-Medida PhilBoxing.com Thu, 03 Oct 2013

SAN FRANCISCO -- When the 2013-14 NBA season opens, center Andrew Bogut, the No.1 overall pick in the 2005 NBA draft, will be playing out the last year of his contract.
His next destination is a big unkown but if it were up to him he'd like to stay with the Golden State Warriors.
"I honestly want to stay here. But I'm not (overlooking) that I've been hurt. So my value has been diminished a little bit. And obviously I want to have a good year," the 7-foot, 265-pound slotman from Melbourne, Australia told the San Jose Mercury News.
Although big men are always a hot commodity in the NBA, Bogut is not exactly sizzling. His eight years in the NBA has been plagued with injuries and he has missed 104 games in the last two seasons alone.
But with another season in the offing, he doesn't worry about where he lands next summer.
"If I get an extension, I get it. If I don't, I don't. But we're not really talking about it right now. The focus is training camp. I just want to keep playing and want to get to the playoffs and make a run at that and then let the chips fall where they may, he said."
Bogut, 28, has played in 440 regular season games, averaging 12.1 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks a game. (JSM)
