BANAL, JANDAENG MAKE WEIGHT!

PhilBoxing.com

Young undefeated prospect, AJ ‘Bazooka’ Banal, faces another test as he fights tough Thai challenger, Terdkiat Jandaeng tomorrow at the Mandaue Sports Complex.

Both fighters made weight at the official weigh-in today held at the ALA Gym.

Banal came in at 116 lbs, while Jandaeng tipped the scales at 117 lbs.

Banal who boasts of an immaculate record of 11 wins, 8 by way of knockout has been tapped as one of the challengers for the vacant WBO Asia-Pacific Youth title.

The fighter who comes out victorious from the Banal-Jandaeng bout will automatically be scheduled for the vacant WBO Aspac Youth title slated on the SGG Sports Feb 24 promotion.

Banal has to overcome this obstacle tomorrow as he eyes a shot for the Asia-Pacific title.

Terdkiat, who flew in from Bangkok last night with trainer/manager, Soontorn Moonkham, came prepared to do battle against Banal. Terdkiat, younger brother of WBO Asia-Pacific champion Terdsak Jandaeng, hopes to follow on his brother’s footsteps and stop the winning streak the 18-year old Cebuano seems to be into.

Looking fit and ready to climb the ring, Jandaeng stepped in at the weight of 117 lbs yesterday (Jan 19) at the ALA Boxing gym for the official weigh-in while, Banal weighed in at 116 lbs.

Undercard fights weigh in results came as follows: Glen Masicampo (135.5 lbs) vs Anton Olarte (132.5 lbs), Rocky Fuentes (115 lbs) vs. Greg Mangan (115 lbs), Milan Melindo (106 lbs) vs Fabio Marfa (107 lbs), Joseph Omana (120 lbs) vs. Carlo Magale (120 lbs) and Ruben Santillanosa (122 lbs) vs Edward Apa-ap (122 lbs).

Over in North Cotabato, Jundy Maraon weighed in at 118 lbs, while Saensak Singmanassak checked in at 117 lbs for their 10-round showdown tomorrow.
