RAMIREZ: ?DOLIGUEZ IS ALL HYPE?

PhilBoxing.com

WBO INTERNATIONAL FEATHERWEIGHT CHAMPION JOSE ?NEGRO? RAMIREZ watched the fight of Jun ?Hercules? Doliguez and was not impressed.

Ramirez said, ?I actually predicted Doliguez would beat Tamayo easy as Tamayo is really just an average fighter. I would love to defend my title against Doliguez. I can easily beat him. Doliguez showed me nothing and he is just all ?HYPE? coming out of the Philippines. I also want to set the record straight about the fight I was suppose to have with Doliguez this past weekend. I was offered $3,000 to fight Doliguez, which we turned down, then the offer went up to $4,000 and we still turned it down. The offer that was published of our purse being $7,000 is incorrect and if it was $7,000, we would have taken the fight. I am ranked #7 in the WBO and Doliguez is ranked #9 in the WBO, so the purse needed to be higher.?

Philippine fans remember this past April 20 in Davao city Philippines as Ramirez easily destroyed Rey ?Boom Boom? Bautista in twelve rounds and getting a split decision. In the first round, Ramirez knocked down Bautista twice with precision punching to the controversial chin of Bautista. International Referee Bruce McTavish wanted to stop the fight after the first knockdown as he saw the eyes of Bautista out of it, but Ramirez hit him again as Bautista sprung up off the ropes and that punch woke up Bautista, so the fight continued.

Ramirez sent the Pride of the Philippines into retirement.
Ramirez will likely fight on the undercard of Marquez vs. Bradley this coming Oct. 12 in Las Vegas against a dangerous Vasyl Lomachenko of Ukraine in a 10 round non-title bout. Lomachenko will be making his professional debut after being one of the top amateurs winning the Olympic Gold in 2008 Beijing and London 2012.

The Team of Ramirez is in disarray and shambles at this moment with so much drama and infighting that the future of this promising kid in the featherweight division is in jeopardy. With a non-title fight looming with Lomachenko, if Ramirez does lose, he will be stripped of his WBO International Featherweight Title and world ranking. Will Ramirez be a one hit wonder in the Featherweight division?
