NBA -- Heat burn Bulls for 37 in Game 2
By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Fri, 10 May 2013

CHICAGO -- With their homecourt advantage stolen by a mild 93-86 upset in Game 1, the defending champions Miami Heat punched back hard and drubbed the Chicago Bulls, 115-78, Wednesday night at the American Airlines Arena.
Leading by only 25-20 after the first quarter of play, the Heat began to widen the gap with a 55-41 halftime advantage. And when the Heat outscored the Bulls 30-15 in the third quarter, the rout was on as Miami led by as many as 46 before settling with a 37-point winning margin, the worst playoffs loss in the history of the Bulls franchise.
Tied at 1-1, this best-of-7 Eastern Conference semifinal shifts to Chicago for Game 3 Friday night at the United Center.
Held to just two points in the opening half of Game 1, LeBron James bounced back with 19 first-half points in Game 2. He didn't score the rest of the way but the newly-minted MVP also had five rebounds and nine assists. Ray Allen topscored for Miami with 21 while point guard Norris Cole had 18. Dwyane Wade finished with 15 and Chris Bosh added 13 and five rebounds.
"We were able to save this one, but we are still in a hole. They (the Bulls) got what they needed. They got one. It doesn't matter about the score tonight. We need to move on now and get ready to get into the lion's den on Friday," Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra told NBA.com.
Marco Belinelli led the Bulls with 13 points and six assists while Joakim Noah had 12 and six rebounds. Nate Robinson and Jimmy Butler combined for 20 points as the Bulls made only 27 of 76 field goals and nine of 23 threes. (Homer D. Sayson)
