DULJOMAN INTERVIEWS LARRY MERCHANT By Anthony 'Duljoman' Andales PhilBoxing.com Tue, 12 Dec 2006 NORTH LITTLE ROCK -- As I sat at the front row of the press row, Larry Merchant happened to pass by, so I approached him and introduced myself. He was glad to know that I'm from Manny Pacquiao Republic. Duljoman: Larry are you aware that you're very popular in the Philippines? Especially at PACLAND? Larry Merchant: No (after 5sec., as I'm about to ask another question). Larry M: How popular I am in the Philippines? As popular as Manny? There'll be people coming if I'll do concert? Duljoman & Larry M: (laughing... like hehehehe...) Duljoman: Who do you want Pacquiao to fight next? Larry M: Barrera. Duljoman: How about the talk about a Macau fight with Edwin Valero? Larry M: I'm only talking about possible fight here in the U.S. And don't know if there's a legitimate talk about that fight. Duljoman: Morales moving to 135 lbs? Larry M: I'm not interested. What did he do to earn such a fight? He'll fight Joel cause he lost 2 consecutive fights both by knockouts? I'm not interested at all. Duljoman: Who is your top 3 pound for pound? Larry M: Your're from the Philippines right? So you know who is number 1. #2 is Mayweather and #3 is Winky Wright. Fighters who can bring people to the arena is my number 1. And your Manny is a crowd pleaser with amazing boxing skills. A super featherweight that hits like a middleweight. Anything lands from Pacquiao is a disaster to his opponent. Duljoman: Are you mad at Mayweather when he told you that you don't know about boxing? Larry Merchant: Floyd's mouth is as fast as his punches, but it didn't sting me a bit. Duljoman: More power Larry, and thanks for your time. Larry M: Thank you, no problem. I hope to see you in the Philippines in my concert.
