NBA -- Warriors can't handle Thunder, lose by 21

SAN FRANCISCO -- Playing in front of 18,203 cheering fans, the 91st consecutive sell-out at the Chesapeake Energy Arena, the Oklahoma City Thunder take care of business early on Wednesday night and coasted to a 119-98 demolition of the visiting Golden State Warriors
The Thunder made 13 of their first 21 shots to build a 34-22 first quarter lead. They pumped 33 more in the second quarter and the Warriors couldn't get back from a deficit that bloated to 18 by halftime. The Thunder finished the game shooting 50.5 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from three-point range.
Kevin Durant led Oklahoma with 25 points, seven rebounds and four assists while point guard Russell Westrbrook accounted for 22 and five assists. Serge Ibaka added 15 and nine rebounds and Kevin Martin came off the bench with 21.
It was the second consecutive poor effort from the 30-19 Warriors, who were thrashed by the Houston Rockets, 140-109, on Tuesday night at the Toyota Center.
"We were not sharp defensively. I thought we played well in spurts, but you give up 64 points in the paint and 29 points off turnovers. That's a recipe for disaster coming into this building against this team. We talked about it before hand and we just didn't get it done."
Harrison Barnes and Klay Thompson had 19 points apiece for Golden State but All-Star David Lee chalked only a modest 12 with 11 rebounds. And for the second straight outing, Warriors point guard Stephen Curry struggled, shooting just 5-for-20 from the field for 14 points. Curry, who missed five of seven three-point shots, also tallied 11 assists.
At 37-12, the OKC Thunder log the seocnd best record overall in the NBA. The 39-11 San Antonio Spurs sit on the top spot. (JSM)
