Sampson Boxing Wins Casimero-Rios Bidding
By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Thu, 03 Jan 2013

Sampson Boxing LLC has won the purse bidding for the title defense of Filipino IBF Jr. Flyweight World Champion Johnriel Casimero against mandatory challenger Luis "Pan Blanco" Rios of Panama today at the IBF head office in Springfield, New Jersey, inform Lindsey E. Tucker, IBF Championships Chairman.
The winning bid from Sampson Boxing was for $ 132,000, way ahead of the $95,000 offered by Promociones y Eventos del Istmo, the sole other participant.
"The Champion gets 75% and the challenger gets 25%. The Promoter Sampson Boxing has 90 days to put the fight on," confirmed Lindsey Tucker.
The numbers mean that world champion Johnriel Casimero (17-2, 10KO's) of Ormoc, Philippines will receive a purse of $99,000, while challenger Luis Alberto "Pan Blanco" Rios (18-1-1, 13KO's) will earn $ 33,000 for the fight.
The venue of the title combat is still to be announced, though it's expected that the clash will take place in the home country of Casimero, the Philippines.
Sampson Boxing LLC of international agent Sampson Lewkowicz represented Cebu's SGG Sports Promotions of promoter Samson Gello-Ani, the handler of world champion Johnriel Casimero, whose last defense was a split decision win over Pedro Guevara last August in Sinaloa, Mexico.
Meanwhile, Luis Alberto R?os earned the right to challenge Casimero by knocking out Mexican Felipe Salguero in round 11 in an IBF ordered eliminator last October at the Roberto Duran Arena in Panama.
Both, Casimero and R?os were born in February of 1990, now 22 year of age.
