By Joan Secuya-Medida PhilBoxing.com Tue, 11 Dec 2012

SAN FRANCISCO --- The Golden State Warriors exploded with 38 points in the first quarter and cruised to a 104-96 win over the Charlotte Bobcats Monday night at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina.
It was the fourth consecutive triumph for the Warriors, who kept their second place slot in the Western Conference's Pacific Division with a 14-7 slate, just half a game behind the pace-setting 14-6 Los Angeles Clippers.
Stephen Curry, Golden State's leading scorer and one of the league's pure shooters, sizzled with a game-high 27 points. Curry, who played college ball in nearby Davidson, sank 10-of-22 field goals, including 4-for-7 on threes and 3-for-4 at the free throw line. He also had seven rebounds and seven assists.
"The guy's playing at an elite level right now. I know we keep talking about it and, sooner ot later, everybody's going to catch on. But he's a heck of a basketball player, " Golden State head coach told NBA.com as he heaped praises on his star shooting guard.
David Lee and Carl Landry had a combined 41 points for Golden State, which led by as many as 21 points. The Warriors shot 45.2 percent from the field while the dispatched Bobcats converted only 31 of their 83 field goals for a 37.3 percent clip. Charlotte did make nine of 26 triples while the Warriors went 8-for-20 above the arc.
Kemba Walker led Charlotte with 24 points while Michael Kidd-Gilchrist added 17. Ben Gordon came off the bench with 14 and Ramon Sessions finished with 12 points and six assists.
After going 7-5 early in the season, the Bocats, who got outrebounded 46-39, have lost eight in a row.
