Gabs’ Work on Pacman Fight: A Visayan Monopoly? PhilBoxing.com Fri, 10 Nov 2006 In the coming Manny Pacquiao-Eric Morales final “nuclear fallout” and its explosive supporting undercards, the blow-by-blow verbal sprucing will be done by congressman Monico Fuentebella in Las Vegas, Nevada for Bombo-Radyo Philippines with the collaboration of Marvin Modelo (Manager of Bombo Branch in Dagupan City), and Mortz Marcelo Ortigoza (columnist of Philboxing.com). The last two personalities will be embedded in Bombo-Radyo Makati, as they will be buttressed by the station’s satellite dish so they can feed their commentary to Bombo’s 43 stations nationally, and its website globally. While the commentary work complimented by the giant television network ABS/CBN will be handled by battle-scarred boxing commentator Manny Pi?ol, the Governor of North Cotabato. Though the ABS/CBN show will be on a delayed telecast basis, Bombo Radyo will feed the blow-by-blow live to the millions of fans all over the Philppines through its 43 stations nationwide. Going back, however, to the four chaps, what do these personalities have in common? Fuentebella, Pi?ol, Modelo, and Ortigoza are all Ilonggos. While Fuentebella - a solon – is based in Iloilo, the other three were born and raised in the former war-torn Cotabato. Pi?ol and Ortigoza are from the progressive town of M’lang, while Modelo hailed from Cotabato City. However, Ortigoza and Modelo are now doing their mettle to survive life in Dagupan City, Pangasinan. The former is a political columnist and a businessman, while Modelo, is the regional correspondent of Standard Today aside from his two-year radio’s managerial work. |
