Two Cebuano fighters take their chance at glory when they challenge Manila-based Philippine champions on December 9 in Binangonan, Rizal.
ALA Boy Robert Allanic, fresh from an impressive win in Japan last week, is set to challenge RP superfly champion Eden Sonsona in a 12-round encounter for the national 115-lb crown.
Sonsona is himself coming off a ninth-round technical knockout victory over third-ranked Jerope Mercado last Saturday.
Allanic had stopped hard-punching Japanese Hiroaki Kusunoke last October 8 in Osaka, Japan.
The co-feature showcases ex-RP champ Wyndel Janiola of Wakee Salud Stable who will try to reclaim his old title by challenging Sonny Boy Jaro in another 12-round encounter.
Janiola, who holds the Philippine Boxing Federation light-flyweight crown, had won the RP title in 2002 over Celso Danggod, but relinquished it to vie for the IBO crown in South Africa.
Both fights will be covered by television program 'In This Corner,' who sealed a deal with Sammy 'Don King' Gello-ani last Saturday for the Sonsona-Allanic showdown to materialize.
