PACQUIAO TO START TRAINING AT SALUD GYM

PhilBoxing.com

Superstar Manny Pacquiao's initial stages for his rubbermatch preparation for Erik Morales has been confirmed to be held in Cebu, as the iconic fighter has chosen the RWS Gym of his close buddy Rex 'Wakee' Salud as his training base before he flies out to Los Angeles.

Pacquiao's third rumble with Morales had been officially announced the other day in Las Vegas by Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, with no less than both Pacquiao and Morales in attendance.

The southpaw Pacquiao reportedly signed up to fight Morales a third time for $3 Million, plus financial upsides should the Mexican star fail to make weight.

Half a million dollars goes to Pacquiao if Morales comes in a pound heavier, while a million dollars will be paid him should the Mexican come two pounds south of the 130-lb border. If Morales comes in more than two pounds heavier, the Filipino boxing hero has the option to decline or take the fight, plus his guaranteed $1 million.

Pacquiao's manager Shelly Finkel had struck the financial terms that would penalize Morales should he come in heavy, to protect the Filipino star in light of what happened to the second Diego Corrales-Jose Luis Castillo battle.

In that rematch, Castillo came in overweight, but Corrales opted to fight him, resulting in a knockout victory by the bigger Castillo.

In their supposed rubbermatch, Castillo again miserably failed to make weight, prompting Corrales and his handlers to call off the fight, setting off a massive investigation that centered on Castillo and his team.

While in Cebu, Pacquiao will be looked after by his close business associate Rex 'Wakee' Salud, who owns the well-equipped RWS gym in Labangon. Salud is reportedly making sure Pacquiao's training will have no distractions, as the Filipino hero prepares for what will be the biggest and most important fight in his career.
