NBA FINALS reach wider then ever

WHEN Game 2 of the 2012 NBA Finals tips off Thursday night at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, it will be seen in 215 countries and territories around the world, a new high for the wolrd's premiere basketball league.
The global broadcast of the highly-anticipated duel between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Miami Heat can be viewed on TV, computers, mobile phones and other tablets, making The Finals more accessible than it's ever been.
The NBA's popularity has grown immensely over the years, thanks in large to social media and a plethora of very marketable superstars such as Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat, Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks, Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls, and Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook of the OKC Thunder.
Some 3.4 billion videos have been viewed by fans on NBA.com, the league's official website. Globally, some 278 million follow the NBA, its teams and players through social media.
Since the advent of the 2012 playoffs last April 28, there have been 7.6 million mentions of LeBron James on Twitter and Facebook. Durant is second with over 5 million mentions. (Homer D. Sayson)
