WARS KATSUMATA KNOCKS OUT TOMOYA KANESHIRO

Flyweight Wars Katsumata (birth name Wars Parenas), fighting out of the Katsumata Boxing Gym of Tokyo continued his unblemished tour in Japan scoring his fifth straight victory by way of KO in the Land of the Rising Sun.

But Wars Katsumata victory was not easy as the brave Kaneshiro engaged the Pinoy in a toe-to-toe power punches combat and at moments staggered the popular Filipino born in Cadiz, Negros Occidental.

The fight was extremely close as both boxers exchanged violent blows to the head and body, accompanied by accidental headbutts produced during the violent exchanges in the middle of the ring.

The efficient Japanese referee had very little work as fighters as clinches were seldom produced, instead, a storm of leather was unfolding in the middle of the Korakuen Hall.

Blow-for-blow action continued. Katsumata and Kenishiro pressed on their course of action, till a violent combination of left and right hooks thrown by the Filipino sent the tough Kenishiro hard to the canvas against the rope near a neutral corner.

The brave Japanese tried to get up but the Japanese referee decided that it was enough and waved off the combat, thus declaring Wars Katsumata winner by technical KO.

It was a winning night for the popular Filipino who was congratulated by his manager Mr. Hiroshi "Hiro" Katsumata of the Katsumata Boxing Gym, his chief coach Venezuelan trainer Santiago Caballero as well as a good number of Filipino boxing fans who resides in Japan.

There were no knockdowns but both Jonathan Baat and Yuta Uetani ended up the combat with cuts over their eyes, the worst of openings was an inch cut over the Filipino's right eye, a wound which was check by the Japanese ringside doctor.
