10 BALL FACE OFF: 'BATA' REYES SEEKS REVENGE VS WU IN TONIGHT'S PBB

Manila, Philippines---FILIPINO billiards icon Efren ?Bata? Reyes and Wu Jia Qing (Wu Chia-ching) rekindle their rivalry as the two former double world champion and topnotch Asian pool stars square off in a in a one-night Philippine Bigtime Billiards (PBB) Face-Off series today, Friday (December 30), at the Airport Pagcor Casino in Paranaque City.

Sports Betting at MegaSportsWorld favored Wu against Reyes as of Thursday. A $1-bet on Wu would win $1.68. A $1-bet on Reyes would win $191.

The match-up jointly organized by the Mega Sports World and BRKHRD Corp, set at 9 p.m. and live over Solar Sports, Sky Channel 70 and Destiny Channel 34, is one of the weekly face-off series pitting local and foreign cue artists in a race-to-9, 10-ball event also aired worldwide through the Internet, live streaming at www.megasportsworld.com and www.philippinebigtimebilliards.com.

The winner will wine $5,000 while the loser gets $2,500. The PBB Face-Off is jointly organized by the Mega Sports World and BRKHRD Corp. in cooperation with Airport Casino Filipino, Crown Sound System Sakura Amplifiers and Home Theater Systems, Malungai Life Oil, Diamond Billiard table, Hermes Sports Bar, I-Bar, Golden Leaf Restaurant, Bugsy Promotions, Mandarin Sky Sea Food Restaurant, Billiards Managers and Players Association of the Philippines (BMPAP).

?I trained hard for this fight so I can give a good show for pool fans,? said 1999 WPA World 9-ball Champion and 2004 WPA World 8-Ball Champion Reyes, top player of sportsman/businessman Aristeo "Putch" Puyat, the acknowledged Godfather of Philippine billiards.

A 2005 WPA World 9-Ball Champion and 2005 WPA World 8-Ball Champion, Wu Chia-ching is now playing for mainland China and carrying a new name Wu Jia Qing.

Wu edged Reyes, 9-8, during the quarter-final round of 11th Predator International 10-Ball Championship last September which topped by World No.1 Dennis "Robocop" Orcollo held at the Robinsons Galleria Mall in Ortigas.

Among the Filipino stars who have played in the PBB Face off series are Carlo "The Black Tiger" Biado, Orcollo, Ronato "Volcano" Alcano, Francisco "Django" Bustamante, Lee Vann "The Slayer" Corteza and Roberto "Superman" Gomez.
