Bahari trounces Abapo in PABA bout
By Salven L. Lagumbay PhilBoxing.com Fri, 16 Jun 2006
RP champion Bart Abapo failed in his bid to capture the PABA super-lightweight title, losing on a unanimous decision to talented champion Daudy Bahari following their 12-round battle at the Swissotel The Stamford in Singapore.
Bahari, fighting brilliantly behind a stiff left jab with his guards up all night, was dominant all throughout the night against Abapo, who tried desperately to land heavy shots that were easily parried by the shifty and quick Bahari.

The Filipino champion had some success in attacking Bahari's midsection, as the reigning champ notably slowed down starting in the second half of the fight, but that did not stop the Bali-based Bahari to continuing peppering Abapo with his trademark jabs.
If Bahari had been on close scrutiny lately due to his lackluster performances in recent fights, he did not show it in Singapore, as he totally dominated Abapo with his scholarly boxing stance and superior technical prowess, although the Filipino seemed to have an edge in power.
The win improved Bahari's record to 29-1-1, 11 KO's, while Abapo dropped to 17-6-3, 12 KO's.
