TUG OF WAR ON PACQUIAO'S NEW FOE

PhilBoxing.com

It's been quite a while since the controversial third war of Manny Pacquiao and Juan Marquez but media still hisses with commentaries as to who won the fight.

Handlers and fans of Juan Manuel challenged the decision awarding the bout to Pacquiao --- pelting debris on officials, writers, broadcasters and photographers hit as collateral victims that's topped by a move to have the verdict reversed to no avail.

The rhubarb after the battle at MGM's Grand Arena will have a sobering look only after Pacquiao's next ring appearance is finalized and that'll come after the Christmas holidays as decreed by the Sarangani boxing congressman.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is highly placed at the totem pole of probables in the run for Manny's scalp.

A prospect that's placing Bob Arum in a tizzy as he maneuvers to stop his competitors from staging a 2012 mega-fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao---arguably the planet's top welterweights..

The Harvard-trained octogenarian is imposing a fourth match on the bitter rivals with a promise of a huge raise on their pay checks.

Pacquiao is taking his time before deciding on what's best to do.

Marquez is back in his native Mexico wearing out his old refrain;
"I wuz robbed thrice" by D' Pac.

Top Rank's Arum is seeing once again the need of getting the hot rivals together for another killing at the tills.

But there's that continuing call getting louder by the minute for a pair-up thats more lucrative---the untried yet more attractive Pacman versus Moneyman card deemed to break existing box office files if signed for execution.

This is where the veteran Arum is meeting opposition from the rival cabal.

Golden Boy Promotions want to match Top Rank's cash cow against their own hot draw.

A Middle East group---awash with cash---wants a Pacquiao-Mayweather promo featured in their backyard.

And the Philippines is very much in the mix for a Pacquiao-Mayweather legacy fight in Manila.

Meanwhile, Marquez stays as an able standby but his repeated flops against the pound for pound champ consigns him to a low rung of priorities for the Pacman.

JuanMa's camp, now on a sober mode has toned down its rhetoric to await what's next for their hero.

Basing on Arum's failure to nail down a Mayweather-Pacquiao mambo three years runnng has doomed the odds for a Pacquaio-Marquez fall back.

It'll take a tour de force for Bob to get it going.

So who's next for Pacman Manny?

Details at 'eleven'.
