MARVIN SONSONA RETURNS OCT. 15

Former WBO superflyweight champ Marvin Sonsona will face Carlos Jacobo of Mexico at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-lapu City this October 15. The 21 year old southpaw from Gen. Santos City was initially scheduled to fight another Mexican, Leopoldo Gonzales this month.
Sonsona (14W-1L-1D, 12 KO?s) has not fought since February 27, 2010, when he was stopped in four rounds by Wilfredo Vasquez,Jr in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Jacobo (14W-3L-1D, 12 KO?s) is a former Mexican superbantamweight champion and last April 16, won the vacant WBC Fecombox title by 5th round TKO against Ulises Cadena.
Promoter Sammy Gello-ani said that the availability of the Hoops Dome is the reason for the latest resetting of the fight date.
Also penned to see action in the undercards are Rey Labao, Johnriel Casimero, and Ramie Laput.
