Double Joy For Balker: Faces Miles On June 4th Ahead of October Title Shot

PhilBoxing.com

London based Dutch Cruiserweight prospect Mitchell Balker has had a double helping of good news this past week. First his manager-coach Johnny Eames negotiated for him to fight Hari Miles on the Olivia Goodwin?s Main Events ?Search & Destroy? double title headliner at York Hall, Bethnal Green on Saturday 4th June 2011.

Then just one day later Johnny Eames was notified, by the Dutch Boxing Authorities, that Mitchell is now ranked number one in the Netherlands and as such is eligible to fight for the Benelux Cruiserweight title in October. An opportunity both Johnny and Mitchell felt they could not let pass, so accepted in an instant.

Following a training session, at the TKO Boxing Gym in Canning Town, an elated Mitchell said, ?It?s very good news, now hopefully we?ll get everything together to go for the title fight, that?s for the Benelux title, in October.

Yeah, I?ll definitely be fighting before then, I?ll be fighting Hari Miles on 4th June. So I guess that it?s going to be perfect, hopefully getting more fights before the title fight, that?s a ten rounder. So I?m out in June and hopefully fight again in September.

I find it very good, I?ve been here in London eight months and I find it very good training here at the TKO Gym, good sparring sessions. That?s the reason I came here.

Where I go after that is up to my manager Johnny Eames and I?m looking for the good directions to go. What I am going to do is concentrate on training and taking more and more fights.?

The 4th June showdown, with Hari Miles, will be Mitchell?s third British fight since linking up with Johnny Eames last year. The first, against British #5 ranked Matty Askin, see Mitchell suffer his first defeat. He soon bounced back though, with a sensational shut out points victory over Battersea?s battling fireman Nick ?The Ox? Okoth in January.

Mitchell Balker Vs.Hari Miles is the main support to co-headliners Ryan Barrett versus Jeffrey Munika, for the International Masters Lightweight Title and Toks Owoh versus Tony Conquest, for the British Masters Cruiserweight belt.

Olivia Goodwin?s Main Events promoted ?Search & Destroy?, double title headlined event will take place at the York Hall, Bethnal Green, London on Saturday 4th June 2011.

Tickets, priced ?35 (Standard seated) and ?50 (Ringside) for the Search and Destroy event are available on-line now at www.tkoboxoffice.com, call: 07960 850645 or in person at The TKO Boxing Gym, Gillian House, Stephenson Street, Canning Town, London E16 4SA.
