THE much-awaited encounter between Filipino-American Brian "Hawaiian Pinoy Punch" Viloria and Jorge "El Traviseo" Arce of Los Mocis, Sinaloa, Mexico is expected to be a "fight of the Year" candidate aside from Pacquiao versus Morales part III. "I believe this will be one of Fight of the Year encounter aside from the Pacquiao versus Morales part III encounter," said Viloria, infront of the local media yesterday in the press conference held by Solar Sports led by Chief Operating Officer Peter Chanliong here at the Banquet room of Oakwood Hotel in Greenbelt, Makati City.

The World Boxing Council (WBC) light flyweight champion arrived in the country Tuesday aboard Thai Airways flight 621 from the United States via Nagoya, Japan.

It was his 19th victory in as many fights and only the third time he had to go through 12 rounds.

It shall be recalled, that Viloria successfully defended his first title fight via unanimous decision over Mexican Jose Antonio Aguirre after winning his crown over former champion Eric Ortiz last September at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

"It made me realized that I can't win them all by knockout," Viloria referring his win against Aguirre last Feb. 18 at the Aladdin Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada aired on Solar Sports, RPN-9 and Real Warriors pay-per-view in the land of milk and honey.

The "petite" and amiable Viloria who's right hand was in bandaged which was injured (slight fracture in his right hand) during his title fight presently in a healing time. "It will take two to three weeks healing," added Viloria.

Aside from Arce, other pugs groomed to be Viloria's future opponent is compatriot and mandatory challenger Juanito Rubillar and a possible rematch to Aguirre.

"Nasa manager ko na 'yun. Basta ang role ko ay maghanda at lumaban, anytime at anywhere," insisted Viloria.

When asked why he choosed boxing as an sport, "I can't play basketball because I am only 5-foot-3, and I tried such other supports like judo, table tennis (pingpong), wrestling and music as well, but I love boxing because It's in me and I had the adrenalin to do it when I am in the ring. Lastly, Its' God gift in me,"

This writer ask him if he wanted to make his life story into movie like Filipino ring idol Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao. "Why not, but after my pro-boxing career, it's my priority and I love boxing."

If Pacquiao chooses young actor Jericho Rosales to portray his life then who will play the role of Viloria? "I like Ogie Alcacid," Viloria said.

When this writer asked Brian what he felt about the victims in the St. Bernard, Southern, Leyte tragedy last month. He posed for a moment and emotionally replied: "When I saw in the CNN the tragedy of St. Bernard, I felt so sad that I am thinking how to help them. Despite of some negative things happening in the Philippines especially the political situation, maybe my win against Aguirre will inspire the country," said Viloria, who donated his boxing purse in the victim of the September 911 tragedy in 2001 in New York City.

Meanwhile, Ben Viloria, father of Brian and a native of Narvacan, Ilocos Sur said yesterday what he feel when his son doing a sparing "Actually, mas ninerbiyos ako pag Monday, Wednesday at Friday pag nag ispar ang aking anak na si Brian.
