ARCE TO VAZQUEZ: "I'LL KNOCK YOU OUT"
By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Fri, 06 May 2011

LAS VEGAS, USA -- This afternoon the press conference for the preliminary bouts of Saturday's Pacquiao vs Mosley mega event was held at the media center of the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino.
Promoter Bob Arum, also the master of ceremonies, introduced the gladiators of the co-feature between Jorge "El Travieso" Arce and WBO World Champion Wilfredo Vasquez. "I'm going to knock you out" was what Arce promised Wilfredo Vasquez Jr., son of one of the most famous champions born in Puerto Rico.
But the Boricua champion did not shrink nor fall short of words. "I know you have lots of experience, but I'm going to win for me, for my family and my people, because I've prepared well and because I have confidence and spirit of improvement and I'm going to win this battle."
Before the Jorge Arce vs Wilfredo Vasquez Jr., will rise into ring at the MGM Grand Hotel, Kelly Pavlik, former world middleweight champion, now campaigning in the super middleweight division, will square it off against the undefeated slugger Alfonso Lopez.
Arum promised a great action packed card for this Saturday in Las Vegas and said his interest is always to promote the best fights because, as a promoter, he wants to give the best show for the fans of boxing.
And the Hall of Fame promoter added "you do not steal fighters. You make co-promotion deals" which provoked applause from reporters at the MGM Grand Media Center.
The fighters will have their weigh-in tomorrow (Friday) at 3:00 pm at the Grand Garden Arena where a record number of crowd is expected.
