Francisco must not take Tepparith lightly: Anuran By Dennis U. Eroa PhilBoxing.com Mon, 25 Apr 2011 ![]() BECAUSE Thai rising star Tepparith Singwancha can punch, reigning WBA super flyweight interim champion Drian ??Golden Fists?? Francisco must not take his opponent lightly. ??Tepparith is the type of boxer that can really floor an opponent,?? said Saved by the Bell Promotions president and Francisco promoter Elmer Anuran. ??Drian is treating this fight like his past fights. He is not taking the Thai lightly and he has trained very well for this bout,?? said Anuran, also a popular Batangue?o sportsman-businessman. Anuran expressed confidence that the 27-year-old pride of Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro will be able to hurdle Tepparith (15-2-0, 10KOs) May 1 in Petchaburi. ??Drian is a thinking fighter. His past fights will show that he has steadily improved through the years. He is climbing the ring in excellent shape and he knows what to do when the bell rings,?? said Anuran. He said it is very likely that the bout will end with somebody kissing the ring. ??The earlier the better,?? Anuran answered when asked to predict what round will Drian win the bout. Team Francisco left last Monday for Bangkok. Francisco and Tepparith will meet the press Wednesday. Also included in the enroutage were Anuran, trainer Benny de la Pe?a, conditioning expert Juvie Encontro and Drian father and former OPBF titlist Deo. Before leaving, Francisco (20-0-1, 16KOs) also vowed to win by knockout. ??I have a very good training camp in Agoncillo, Batangas,?? said Francisco who logged a total of 120 rounds in sparring. To prepare for the sizzling Thai summer, Anuran ordered the construction of an outdoor ring where Drian held sparring against bigger and heavier rivals. Among his sparmates was Ryan Migreno, who lost to Tepparith by 6th round knockout for the PABA crown September 9, 2010 in Bangkok. ?I?ll bring the fight to Tepparith,?? vowed Francisco, who is dedicating the bout to the heroism of Filipino workers. Tepparith is ranked fourth by the WBA and holder of the Pan Asia Boxing Association super flyweight crown. He is eyeing to avenge the humiliation suffered by his friend Duanpetch Kokietgym who got bludgeoned by the Filipino fighter last November in Nong Khai province. Anuran said winning the bout is a huge stepping stone for Francisco in his bid to challenge Mexican Hugo Cazares (34-6-2, 24KOs) for the WBA plum this year. According to the WBA, American Rafael Ramos will referee the bout. Judges are Californian Raul Caiz Jr., New Zealander Francisco Martinez and Bulgarian Venciclav Nikolov. The Bangkok Post, Thailand?s leading English newspaper, noted that Francisco of Touch Gloves Boxing Gym is one of the Philippines' fastest boxing stars thanks to his boxing style and powerful punches. Francisco had knocked out all his six Thai foes since 2006. Tepparith, however, is not new to besting Pinoy pugs, having beaten the likes of Mating Kilakil, Ryan Tampus, Apol Suico, Nino Suelo, Along Denoy and Ryan Maliteg.
