Khan-structing the Case for a Rematch: Prescott Dominates Jargal
PhilBoxing.com Sun, 24 Apr 2011

In the main event of ESPN2 Friday Night Fights from the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, Colombian power puncher Breidis "The Khanqueror" Prescott (24-2, 19 KOs) scored a dominating (99-91, 99-90, and 100-90) decision over Mongolian contender Bayan Jargal (15-2-3, 9 KOs) and furthered his case for a rematch against WBA Light Welterweight Champion Amir Khan in the process.
For those who don't recall, Prescott dropped Khan (25-1, 17 KOs) like a bag of hammers and laid waste to his undefeated record in 54 seconds in September 2008 at the M.E.N. Arena.
"I kept my end of this bargain by winning a tough fight against a world-class opponent. Now it's Amir's turn to make good on his promise to fight me," said a triumphant Prescott, post-fight.
To put it politely, Khan and his people have been reluctant to face Prescott in an attempt to avenge his only loss. But after an extending public shaming from Prescott, Khan finally promised he would face Prescott after facing Timothy Bradley in his next fight.
"If something goes wrong with the Bradley fight, you are obligated as a man of your word to fight me, Amir. And if you do fight Bradley, win or lose, I'll be waiting for you next."
Khan has stated in the past that Prescott is not "worthy" of facing him again, but Prescott finds that logic out of line with Khan's decision to face unknown Paul McCloskey in his last fight -- a fight in which Khan predictably scored a shutout unanimous decision.
"Don't make me hire people in chicken suits to follow you to your fights, Amir. Keep your word. Do what a champion does and try to avenge your defeat to me - Breidis Prescott -- The Khanqueror!"
