ASENJO ALL SET FOR DUEL WITH GARCIA FOR WBO 105-LB. TITLE

World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental Miniflyweight Champion Rommel "Lirttle Assassin" Asenjo is all set and ready for the biggest fight in his young boxing career - the world championship bout against WBO Interim champion Raul "Rayito" Garcia in Tijuana, Mexico April 30.
Last Tuesday, the US Embassy in Manila approved the request of ALA Boxing promotions, which holds the promotional rights for Asenjo and two other North Cotabato boxers, for the issuance of transit visas for Asenjo and Braveheart Boxing Club trainers Noli Pinol and Dante Lerio.
The team, including Braveheart Boxing Club head and former North Cotabato governor Manny Pinol, will fly to San Francisco April 23 on the way to Tijuana for the championship fight.
Asenjo, 21, is currently training in the ALA Boxing Gym in Cebu City under the supervision of Lerio and ALA conditioning coach Pio Solon.
The fight against Garcia will be for the WBO Miniflyweight world title which is expected to be vacated by reigning champion Donnie Nietes who will move up to the flyweight division.
Garcia, the former International Boxing Federation champion who defeated Florante Condes, is a southpaw like Asenjo.
The Filipino fighter who hails from Pigcawayan, North Cotabato has a record of 20 wins, 16 by KO, and 2 losses.
