?BOOM BOOM HAS A GLASS CHIN? - BARRERA

PhilBoxing.com

CEBU CITY -- Alejandro Barrera of Mexico met the Cebu Sports Press Corps one day after his arrival for his rematch against Rey ?BoomBoom? Bautista. When asked what he thought were BoomBoom?s weaknesses, he answered ?His defense. I will also work on the body more, and he has a glass chin.?

Barrera also talked about the feedback from Mexico about the ending wherein he lost by TKO in the 4th round due to a cut. ?The media and the fans knew about the fight. They wrote on the internet and demanded a rematch.?

?When the fight was stopped, I had the momentum,I felt his power early but later I was able to take his punches.? he added. ?I trained hard for this fight. I sparred with Daniel Ponce deLeon. I already know Bautista?s style, I came here to knock him out.?

Barrera said Ponce De Leon punches harder than Bautista. He also predicted he would stop Bautista in 5 rounds. He is just two pounds over the featherweight limit, 3 days before the official weigh-in.

Barrera?s trainer, Victor Hugo Correa wore a T-shirt saying ?Daniel Ponce de Leon is back!? to taunt Bautista.

?Bautista better be prepared because this will be the hardest fight he ever had.? Barrera was totally confident with his statements during the entire press conference. He said he was happy to be here again, Filipino fans greeted him at the airport. He doesn?t mind fighting Bautista here for a third time after he beats him on Saturday.

As for the upcoming fights involving Filipino boxers, Barrera said Manny Pacquiao will beat Shane Mosley but he predicts Fernando Montiel will knock out Nonito Donaire inside four rounds. He thinks his victory in Cebu will lead to a title shot.

Fight day is on January 29 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel. Barrera will have an public workout for the fans Wednesday afternoon 5 PM at the Park Mall in Mandaue City.
