PACQUIAO MAY TRAIN IN CEBU SAYS ADVISER SALUD By Edward Ligas PhilBoxing.com Sun, 05 Sep 2010 CEBU CITY--Reigning World Boxing Organization (WBO) Welterweight Champion nnd Pound for Pound King and Congressman Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao (51-37 KOs-3l) may train in Cebu in preparation for his upcoming fight against Antonio "Tornado" Margarito (38-27 KOs-6l) of Mexico on November 13, 2010, at the Cowboy Stadium in Texas, USA. This was revealed by Pacquaio confidant Rex "Wakee" Salud yesterday in an exclusive interview with Philboxing.com. Salud said, "Sa wala pa molarga si Manny sa Amerika, miingon gyod siya nga gusto siya nga anhi mag-training sa Cebu," (Before Manny left for America, he told me that he wanted to train in Cebu") We already prepared for his security and ensured that his trainings will not be disturbed and affected by die hard fans, he promised. Earlier, Pacman expressed interest to train inside the vicinity of Congress but was opposed by Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, because this might cause disruption in its operations in the lower house. The warrior from Sarangani Province is expected to come back next week and start his training. There is no problem here in Cebu because Manny and the Hall of Fame Trainer Freddie Roach are very familiar in the area. Manny will jog in IT Park and along the hills of Alta Vista. Then, will do his regular routine like punch mitts and sparring sessions. He will bring Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., and even Randy Suico can spar with him, Salud added. We just have to control the crowd and strictly implement the rules during the duration of his trainings. In 2007, Pacquiao trained in Cebu in his rematch with Marco Antonio Barrera which he easily won. Meanwhile, when Salud was asked about the recent rant of Floyd Mayweather, the close aid replied "Mayweather should stop acting like a child and those non-sense and unfounded accusations, he should meet Pacquiao inside the ring to settle once and for all, who is the best boxer in the planet. I don't believe that he is scared of Manny he just want to build-up himself as his bargaining in future negotiations," Salud added. The Congressman, who is considered as the most exciting fighter in the planet will be gunning for an unprecedented eighth world title in as many divisions.
