REY BAUTISTA ARRIVING IN CEBU JAN. 2
By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com Sat, 31 Dec 2005
Bohol boxing phenom Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista, fresh from his conquest of Mexican veteran Gerardo Espinoza at the Sycuan Casino in San Diego last Dec. 23, will be arriving in Cebu on Jan. 2, 2006 for a quick respite and to spend quality time with his family during the new year.
The 19-year-old Bautista, who now sports a 19-0 win-loss record with 14 KOs, will immediately leave back to the United States in the middle of January together with boxing promoter Sammy "Don King" Gello-ani to resume his campaign in the U.S.
The WBO Asia-Pacific bantam king and the world's WBO number 1 contender Rey Bautista's next fight in the U.S. is still being arranged.
Bautista's manager, ALA Boxing Club boss Antonio L. Aldeguer, together with trainer Edito "ALA" Villamor, stays behind in the U.S. to prepare for the upcoming fights of Bautista stablemates Z "The Dream" Gorres and Czar Amonsot, both of whom will be fighting on Feb. 3 at the Orleans Casino in Las Vegas against Mexican Samuel Lopez and American Arturo Quintero respectively.
