Ponce De Leon Pounds Out a Tough But Clear Decision Win

RINGSIDE FROM MGM GRAND, LAS VEGAS -- In a ten round featherweight fight, Daniel Ponce de Leon?s consistency and good body stack was enough to win a close, but unanimous decision over Corelius Lock. The former world champ, Ponce de Leon, was much more conventional this time around that in previous fights. That may have cost him in the power department. While Ponce de Leon was consistent throughout the fight, Lock was able to have moments of success, landing big punches, but never seeming to hurt De Leon. Lock rallied late in the fight, which made the scores much closer. At the end of 10 rounds, the scorecards read, 96-94, 97-93, 96-94 all for Ponce de Leon, who retains his WBC Latino Featherweight title. It?s been a decent undercard so far in terms of quality prize fighting.
