BACOLOD City – Art “El Matador” Villanueva and Jun-Jun “D’Tiger” Sabillo and both of the Bacolod’s Guanzon Stable scored contrasting wins against their separate rivals here at the Casino Ampi-theater of the Pagcor Hotel, Golden Fields Commercial Complex, this city.
Villanueva landed body shots to stop late-substitute Sherwin Manatad of Butuan in the seventh round of a scheduled 10-rounder in the flyweight division.
Sabillo, on the other hand, survived a nasty cut due to an accidental head butt to escape with a unanimous decision victory against Roel Honor of Agusan del Sur in the minimum weight division.
It was Sabillo’s 11th straight win against no loss or draw with four knockouts.
Four other boxers from the Guanzon Stable owned by Rev. Henry Guanzon also posted separate victories in the under card of the event dubbed as “Boxing Blow by Blow Double Main Event.”
Lightweight Kevin “D’Great” dela Cruz pummeled to submission Arnel Taganas in the second round, while featherweight John-John “D’Hitman” Guanzon, super featherweight Ryan “D’ Pitbull” Sermona and flyweight Rhay “D’ Striker” Guanzon all posted unanimous decision wins.
John-John Guanzon won over Juan Morano, Sermona outclassed Jomar Labiogo, while
