Peter Maniatis headed to the Philippines

Australia’s Peter Maniatis has won the state of Victoria’s promoter of the year for the second year running. Maniatis, who is currently in the Philippines, is doing a series of television segments with Filipino boxers, trainers and promoters for his popular, self-anchored boxing show. This will also include the famous ALA boxing gym which is without a doubt, the best gym in the Philippines.
First on his list will be the World Title fight in Pasay City where IBF light-flyweight champion Brian Viloria will be fighting Carlos Tamara. WBO minimumweight champion Donnie Nietes will be defending his title against once-beaten challenger Jesus Silvestre.
Maniatis will be a special invited guest at ringside. Maniatis has made a special trip from Australia to witness this world championship fight night that is showing some of the best talent coming from the Philippines.
Peter Maniatis has done almost 40 boxing promotions in Australia and has guided several Australian boxers and has helped them achieve championship belts. His latest prot?g? is half-Pinoy boxing sensation Heath “The Heat” Ellis, who is only at the tender age of twenty-one and has captured five championship titles; Ellis (12-1-1, 6 KO’s) is the reigning IBF Pan Pacific and WBC Asian Boxing Council welterweight champion.
“The kid is really good, he’s something special” Maniatis said exclusively to PhilBoxing just before his trip to the Philippines. Maniatis will arrive in Manila on the 14th of January and will stay for several weeks conducting interviews, attending training sessions and other boxing related activities.
Peter Maniatis is a boxing icon in Australia and will be welcomed with open arms in the Philippines.
Heath Ellis’ father/manager Neil Ellis will also make a special trip to the Philippines and he will also be at ringside at the dual world title fight in Pasay City. Ellis’ co manager Elio Doria will remain in Australia whilst taking care of other lucrative business.
